How Our NJ Home Inspector School Works

The training program combines live instruction and hands-on field experience, structured to meet New Jersey training expectations.

Students complete:

  • 140 hours of live virtual classroom instruction

  • 40 hours of supervised field training

Both components are required and designed to work together — learning theory first, then applying it in the field.

Live Virtual Instruction — Not Pre-Recorded Videos

Classes are taught live via Zoom, allowing students to:

  • Ask questions in real time

  • Learn directly from experienced instructors

  • Stay on a structured schedule

All sessions are recorded and emailed the next day for review or missed classes. Live attendance is encouraged, but recordings ensure continuity.

This format allows flexibility without sacrificing accountability.

Supervised Field Training With Report Feedback

A major difference between this NJ home inspector school and many online programs is field mentoring.

During the 40-hour field training component:

  • Students inspect real residential properties

  • A full inspection report is written after each inspection

  • Reports are submitted for instructor review

  • Written feedback is provided to correct errors and improve clarity

Students are given up to 6 months to complete field training.

Who This NJ Home Inspector School Is For

  • Can attend evening classes consistently

  • Are pursuing licensure and professional practice

It is not designed for those looking for shortcuts or minimal involvement.
